An OSHA 300 log is a record and report of work-related fatalities, injuries, and illnesses. The governing standard for OSHA 300 logs is the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1904. If your company had more than 10 employees at any time during the last calendar year, you are required to maintain an OSHA 300 log with a few exceptions to this rule. OSHA record keeping can be very confusing and cumbersome, give us a call and we can help you make sense of it.

Although a valid question, the first question should rather be: Is PPE the best protection for my employees? The NIOSH Hierarchy of Controls states that PPE should be the last line of defense against a workplace hazard. Instead, is there a way to: eliminate; substitute; engineer out; or administratively control the hazard? It’s understandable if you’re not trained in this arena, so many people have been taught and shown that throwing PPE at a hazard is the ultimate solution.
